I have been eyeballing the SNILLE visitor chair from Ikea for months & finally
got it!
So easy to assemble and gives my desk some modern flair.
I got some other great IKEA things. I will take snapshots and share.
Look for photos soon!

Either I'm shrinking, or my coffee cup is getting larger.
Lately I feel like this is me most of the day.
I think it is a combination of a strong coffee addiction, and the delicious caffeine that drips out of my Keurig every day. They got me!
DIY Homemade Desk
Yesterday after buying the little white chair at the Salvation Army, I got that creative itch.
I decided to make a desk. I don't have a very large flat, so I had to be creative.
Some of you might remember this little chest I antiqued in a previous post last month.
Not wanting to add yet another piece of furniture to my already small place, I decided to turn this into a desk. I went over to Home Depot and had them cut a piece of wood to the size that I wanted. I then had them cut two legs down to match the height of the chest.
Two screws and a little paint later .. a desk!
I will get a better picture of it soon .. I was just too excited to share!

My little chair
I was browsing around at The Salvation Army today .. came across this adorable little chair.
I fell in love with how simple it is .. while adding a different texture with the seat.

Another homemade canopy.
I decided my room was lacking some above the bed attention, so I went to Big Lots.
There I bought a vintage-inspired curtain rod ($6) & a window scarf. ($12)
There you have it .. a canopy for $18. :)
I also stopped at the Salvation army on my way home and found these pictures for $1.50 each.
Couldn't resist buying them all, they are so gorgeous and the frames are lovely as well.

Great Craigslist find!
I bought this little hallway table off Craigslist for $10. There were slots where drawers used to be, so I just bought 2 baskets to fill the space. Looks great .. and now I have a place to put my keys every time I come home.

Made my sister some birthday presents.
I spent the afternoon making my sister her birthday presents yesterday. (I hope you don't see this blog post, Jessca!) :x
Anyways, I made a pumpkin spice sugar scrub & some candy dipped spoons with a mug and hot cocoa.
I think the sugar scrub turned out FANTASTIC. I used it last night in the shower and not only does my skin feel soft and smooth, my bathroom smelled amazing as well.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 cup Safflower Oil (or Sunflower oil) *Olive oil should not be used due to the smell.
- 1 cup granulated white sugar
- 2 cups brown sugar (I used dark)
- 3 tbs pumpkin pie spice (I used McCormick brand)
Just blend all the ingredients in a bowl .. I mixed the oil in last after thoroughly blending all dry ingredients. Then just pour into a jar and enjoy. It will stay good for months as long as you keep it air tight and out of sunlight. :) Love it!
I was shopping at Target and found this little mug with my sister's initial on it. It also just so happened to be her favorite color! Not wanting to just buy an empty mug as a present I decided to fill it, too!
Using durable plasticware and various candy/chocolate, I dipped the spoons and coated them with candy. I also included a few packets of hot cocoa in the mug. Just use the spoons to stir coffee/cocoa and enjoy the flavor!
Mmmmmm ..
I hope she enjoys her presents! <3
